Co-learning is a type of learning facility that has a stronger emphasis on education than traditional daycare, which is a type of child care facility that provides care for your child when you can’t. Co-learning focuses on raising the curiosity in children and feeding their bug to explore, while traditional daycare focuses solely on the subjects to be learned and has been heavily dependent on assessments based on their teachings. Co-learning adopts the 21st-century skills of problem solving, decision making, team-work and communication in the teaching and learning process, which are needed to survive in today’s global economy, while traditional daycare does not integrate these skills. Co-learning also creates a connection between the academic and the social aspects of learning and develops children’s competencies in creativity, collaboration, self-regulation and problem solving, while traditional daycare does not connect these aspects.
